Voltim Global and BG Logistics pass 450 shipments on the Akkuyu supply line

October 10, 2026

Since March 2024 Voltim Global has delivered more than 450 shipments of project equipment and materials to the Akkuyu area, over 400 of them with BG Logistics; volumes doubled in 2026.

Mersin, October 2026 – International logistics and customs company Voltim Global completed more than 450 shipments to the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant area between March 2024 and September 2026. Project equipment and materials loaded in Russia, Belarus and Europe were cleared at Taşucu customs and delivered to the construction site in the Gülnar district of Mersin province. More than 400 of these shipments were handled together with our partner BG Logistics. The aim of the line is to keep a steady flow of cargo reaching the site while construction of the power units continues. In 2026 volumes doubled: over 250 shipments were completed in the first nine months of the year alone.

The Akkuyu line in figures

  • 450+ shipments to the Akkuyu area since March 2024
  • 400+ of them in partnership with BG Logistics
  • around 100 shipments in 2024 and around 105 in 2025
  • 250+ shipments from January to September 2026
  • 100+ loading points across Russia
  • about two thirds of shipments via the Tuapse–Taşucu RoRo route

Sea first, road corridors in reserve

Roughly two thirds of the cargo moves on the Tuapse–Taşucu RoRo route that Voltim Global uses on this line: the truck rolls onto the ferry in Tuapse, rolls off in Taşucu and goes straight into customs clearance. Two road corridors run alongside the sea route – via the Upper Lars border crossing with transit through Georgia and, since 2026, overland via Iran. Equipment shipped from the European Union travels by road along the Czech Republic–Bulgaria–Türkiye corridor. The route for each shipment is chosen according to cargo dimensions, the delivery date and the current situation at the border crossings.

Keeping several corridors open means the schedule can be rearranged quickly if one route is disrupted. At Upper Lars, for instance, an electronic queue for trucks has been in place since 1 October 2025, and the crossing closes from time to time due to weather.

More than 100 loading points

In two and a half years, the line's loading network in Russia has grown to more than 100 different addresses. Key loading cities include Moscow and the Moscow region, St Petersburg, Sosnovy Bor (Leningrad region), Nizhny Novgorod, Veliky Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Kasli, Barnaul, Belgorod, Izhevsk and Volgodonsk. Cargo is also collected in Minsk (Belarus) and in Opava in the Czech Republic.

Customs in Taşucu, last mile to Akkuyu

Once cargo arrives in Taşucu, Voltim Global handles customs clearance and arranges last-mile delivery to the Akkuyu NPP construction site at Gülnar–Büyükeceli. T1, TIR and NCTS transit declarations are also prepared in-house; details are on our transit customs page.

For oversized and heavy cargo, Voltim Global can obtain the special road permit from Türkiye's General Directorate of Highways (KGM) within a single day – one of the capabilities that set the company apart. That turnaround was achieved, for example, on an out-of-gauge road shipment from Voronezh to Mersin.

A concrete example from site operations: in August 2026 Voltim Global and BG Logistics distributed 10 truckloads from Tarsus to the Akkuyu plant site in a single day.
