Challenge

Calcium granules imported into Türkiye from Glazov in Russia's Udmurtia region had to be carried to Kocaeli. The cargo was calcium with the number UN 1401: a substance listed in ADR class 4.3 that emits flammable gas in contact with water. The transport therefore had to be carried out with an ADR-certified vehicle and driver, and the drums had to be secured so that they could not shift along the way.

Solution

  • ADR vehicle: The transport was planned with our partner carrier, which has an ADR-certified vehicle and driver, using a tilt trailer.
  • Load securing: The metal drums were placed on the trailer in rows; the upper rows were tied together with wooden frames to secure them against shifting.
  • Customs and route: Export customs procedures were completed in Glazov; the vehicle crossed into Georgia at the Upper Lars border crossing and then entered Türkiye. The destination customs office was Kocaeli.
  • Tracking: Throughout the trip the status of the vehicle was tracked every day and reported to the client.

Result

  • Loaded on 14 September 2026, the vehicle was unloaded in Kocaeli on 1 October 2026.
  • 20,644 kg of dangerous goods were carried from the interior of Russia to Türkiye in a single vehicle in compliance with ADR rules.
