Challenge

Chemical products shipped from Jordan reached Ambarlı Port in Istanbul by sea in a container; their final destination was Moscow. The cargo had to be taken out of the container at the port, transferred to road vehicles, cleared through customs and carried to Russia. Voltim Global was responsible for the entire transfer operation and all customs procedures.

Solution

  • Transfer at the port: At Ambarlı, the pallets unloaded from the container were loaded from the side by forklift onto the trucks with their curtains opened. The transfer was completed without damage to the products' insulating covers or pallets.
  • Vehicle planning: The cargo was distributed across three tilt trucks with no more than 20 tonnes per vehicle; the pallets were secured inside the vehicles with ratchet straps.
  • Customs: The customs procedures related to the transfer were completed in coordination with our contracted customs broker.
  • Route and tracking: The vehicles left the port on 11 September and proceeded by road to Russia via Georgia. Throughout the trip the status of the vehicles was tracked every day and reported to the client.

Result

  • The three vehicles were delivered in Moscow on 28 September 2026.
  • The transfer between sea and road, customs and transport were handled by a single responsible party; the client did not have to work with a separate company for the transfer at the port.
