Challenge
A dome-shaped industrial unit manufactured at a factory in Voronezh had to be transported to Mersin. The unit's dimensions exceeded the standard vehicle profile, so the shipment had to be planned as an oversized load and a special road permit had to be obtained before departure. In the industry, this permit process often takes days, sometimes weeks.
Solution
- Permit: The special road permit required for the oversized load was obtained in 1 day, so the most critical step of the move was cleared without delaying the schedule.
- In-factory loading: The unit was loaded onto the vehicle with an overhead crane on the factory premises; crane and vehicle positions were planned together.
- Load securing: Protected with shrink wrap, the unit was secured to the vehicle at multiple points.
- Route and customs: The unit was carried from Russia to Türkiye on the Tuapse–Taşucu Ro-Ro line, and customs procedures were completed at Taşucu.
