In August 2026 we added a third overland route via Iran to the Akkuyu supply line: between 19 August and 30 September 2026, 24 vehicles loaded in 19 Russian cities were routed via Iran to Taşucu under customs transit.
- Client
- Akkuyu Nuclear JSC
- Route
- Russia → Iran → Türkiye, customs transit · destination customs Taşucu
- Period
- First loadings 19 August – 30 September 2026
- Volume
- 24 vehicles, 19 loading cities
- Cargo
- Project equipment and materials, mostly up to 10 tonnes per vehicle
Challenge
In 2026 volume on the Akkuyu supply line grew rapidly: 243 trips were loaded in the first nine months. During this period cargo moved on the Tuapse–Taşucu Ro-Ro line and by road via Upper Lars and Georgia. The task was to open a third overland route for the line in addition to these two.
Solution
- Route: A customs transit route from Russia to Türkiye via Iran was put into operation; the cargo was routed to Mersin for customs clearance at Taşucu.
- Loading coordination: Our Moscow office planned loadings in 19 cities from St. Petersburg to Omsk; loads collected from several points were consolidated on the same vehicle.
- Documents and tracking: Transit documents were prepared before loading; the vehicles were tracked every day along the way and daily status updates were sent to the client.
Result
- Between 19 August and 30 September 2026, 24 vehicles set off on the Iran route.
- Loading cities include St. Petersburg, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Voronezh, Novovoronezh, Obninsk, Volgodonsk, Sosnovy Bor, Zheleznogorsk and Omsk.
- The Akkuyu line now operates on three routes: Ro-Ro, Georgia and Iran.
